As of the end of 2020, 35 production lines for 6th generation and above panels have been built in mainland my country. The total investment in the production lines has reached 1.24 trillion yuan, and the annual production capacity has reached 222 million square meters. The upstream of the new display industry chain mainly includes raw materials such as backlight modules, polarizers, color filters, glass substrates; driver ICs, circuit boards and other components; packaging equipment, testing equipment and other equipment; the midstream mainly includes the manufacturing of LCD, OLED, Mini LED, Micro LED, quantum dot display, laser display and other display panels; the downstream is consumer electronics and other application scenarios, of which consumer electronics mainly includes mobile phones, computers, TVs, cameras, wearable devices, etc. According to the gross profit margins of each link in the new display industry chain, currently, the gross profit margins of upstream raw materials and components such as driver ICs, electronic gases, and testing equipment are relatively high. Among them, the gross profit margins of driver ICs are as high as 45%-70%, while the gross profit margins of raw materials and components such as packaging equipment and circuit boards are relatively low.
